Do you have air-conditioning?
No, but we have fans in the bedrooms and living room. Our lodge operates on a generator which is turned off from 12-2pm and 10pm-6am. Bring a USB rechargeable bedside fan if you want a breeze at night.
Do you need a 4 x 4 to get there?
It is advisable, but not required. There are a couple of sandy parts closer to the farm but a regular SUV will suffice. If you get stuck, our farm manager can come pull you out. It is advisable to phone him when you leave Inharrime so that he will be expecting you.
Are there restaurants in the area?
No, we are quite remote so ideal for those who want to get away from it all. You can get a basic piri-piri chicken and French fries at the bridge in Inharrime but for a restaurant with a view and diverse menu, it would be best to go to Zavora Beach, about 1 hour and 15 minutes from the farm.
Is the water safe for swimming?
Yes, though it is important to note that two hippo have been spotted on the opposite side of the lake from time to time.
Is Caju Afrique located in a malaria zone?
Yes, it is therefore advisable to take anti-malarial medication and apply mosquito repellent. The Lodge’s windows have screens and the beds are all equipped with mosquito nets too.
