Activities

From relaxation to adventure, find what suits you best.

Kayaking

Enjoy a sunrise paddle on the pristine water in front of our three lodges, venture across the lake to the other side of Rio Inharrime or explore to one of the nearby beaches to collect agates and other stones from the white sand beaches.  We have lifejackets should you require them.

Trail Running, Guided Walks

Our three lodges are nestled between an 85 hectare cashew nut farm and Rio Inharrime.  You are more than welcome to explore the plantation on foot, however, if you are interested in a guided tour from our farm manager, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Boating

For a more adventurous holiday, bring your boat to explore the vast water surrounding our farm.  It’s the ideal spot to waterski, wakeboard and fish as Rio Inharrime has flat, glass-like water in the mornings.  For a fun afternoon, take the kids tubing or indulge in a sundowner cruise.  We share this water with several local dhow fishermen who fish using nets. Fish commonly caught in Lake Poela are the Kingfish, The Spotted Grunter, The Gar Fish and The Stump Nose Family.  Our farm manager is on site to assist you with launching your boat.

Kiteboarding

Kiteboarding is fast becoming a popular water sport and we have had numerous kitesurfers at Caju Afrique. We have also had some students that have learnt how to kiteboard at Caju Afrique. It is a great place to learn because of the shallow water in front of the lodges. The lake offers fantastic stretches of shallows to learn in, no matter what the wind direction.

Bird Watching

There is a vast amount of bird life at Caju Afrique and it has become a very popular destination for bird watchers. The Olive Headed Weaver is found in Panda (65km from our farm), and is found only in several parts of the Sub-Saharan Africa (Mozambique, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia).
